Nickel 201 round bar is an alloy that contains 99% nickel along with aluminium and titanium. The small additions of Al and Ti give nickel 201 better high-temperature strength versus pure nickel 200 while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance.
ASTM B160 Nickel 201 Threaded Bar also performs well in acidic pollution control systems and plating chemistry baths. It handles repetitive bending or vibration better than stainless grades in dynamic components. The metal resists erosion, pitting and environmental cracking far better than ordinary steel. This reduces failures and eases maintenance headaches.
Another prime feature of UNS N02201 Hex Bar have strength at high temperatures. At around 1200°F, it’s over twice as strong as nickel 200 while having the same exceptional corrosion resistance. The alloy maintains excellent mechanical and corrosion properties from the coldest cryogenics up to 1300°F. This broad operating range makes it the top choice for ultra-demanding applications.
In addition to its corrosion resistance and high-temperature properties, nickel 201 provides great fabricability. It’s ductile enough to form complex shapes while also being amenable to machining, grinding, welding, and other common metalworking processes. It can be hardened significantly by cold working without becoming brittle. It also has excellent solderability. JIS NW 2201 Rectangular Bar offers the ideal formability, strength, and corrosion resistance combo.
It’s commonly machined into fasteners, fittings, valves and other components for industries like chemical processing, aerospace, nuclear and electronics manufacturing.
To get optimal weld performance with DIN 2.4068 Square Bar, the welded areas must be annealed after joining to restore the alloy’s full corrosion resistance and ductility. Choosing filler metals carefully is also important to avoid any reduction in corrosion protection.
