Incoloy 925 round bar is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy widely used to make round bars for industrial applications. The excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, and oxidising chemicals enables long service life across many industries.
The nickel alloy 925 content ranges from 38% to 46%. This high nickel level boosts corrosion resistance. The chromium adds strength and hardness at both low and high temperatures. Manufacturers form UNS N09925 Black Bar into round bars using hot rolling or extrusion. These processes create uniform circular bars with a concentric finish and precise dimensions. Round bars provide strength in all directions. This even distribution of load-bearing capacity prevents stress points that could lead to premature failure.
The nickel content gives ASTM B805 Incoloy 925 flat bars good ductility and toughness, even in cryogenic conditions. The bars can handle extreme cold without becoming brittle. Mechanical properties remain steady down to -420°F. This adaptability suits the alloy for liquefied natural gas and other low-temperature applications.
Incoloy 925 has useful strength up to 1400°F. It retains decent ductility and impact resistance when heated. Oxidation resistance is quite good in continuous service up to 1800°F. These characteristics make ASME SB805 Incoloy Square Bar suitable for high-temperature chemical processing, refinery equipment, and combustion applications.
Incoloy 925 bars deliver excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. This alloy can withstand exposure to various acids, alkalis, salts, and oxidising environments. It performs well in bleaches, chlorides, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, seawater, and other corrosive media. The corrosion resistance comes from the dense, stable, chromium-rich oxide film that forms on the surface.
