Manufacturing

Smartness doesn’t lie in only being knowledgeable. The knowledge when applied correctly, judiciously and aptly with the intent of creating nothing but the best generates smart products.

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities comprise of Induction Melting Furnaces, Vacuum Degassing (VD), Electro-slag Refining (ESR), Long Radial Forging Machine (GFM) and various Heat Treatment Furnaces as our major machinery.

Supplementary machinery includes Peeling machine, Center-less grinding and a fully functional state-of-the-art machine shop to provide bars to precise tolerances with impeccable finish.

Our capabilities range from standard to high-grade special application steels for almost any usage conceivable under the sun. The integration of man, machinery and processes at Supreme is perhaps, a first-of-its kind in the Indian sub-continent, and hence unique in its ability to serve your need.

This is the most advanced primary melting process especially used for melting of Superalloys. The raw materials in the form of scrap and ferro-alloys are combined according to their chemical compositions to attain the required composition for the end product. During this stage, the raw materials are made molten and then poured into ingots by the process of casting through bottom pouring. The output of this process is pure ingots of the required chemical composition. We have two vacuum induction melting furnaces of 1500 kgs each with a total melting capacity of 3000 tons/month.

Additional Advantages:

  • Micro cleanliness
  • Inclusion morphology
  • Degassing of Hydrogen, Oxygen & Nitrogen
  • Close chemical composition & temperature control

This is the refining & decarburization process mainly used to reduce the Carbon & sulphur from the molten metal. It is mainly used for stainless steels, duplex & super-duplex steels where the material is requied to have a very low carbon content.

Additional Advantages:

  • Decarburisation
  • Desulphurization
  • Inclusion distribution
  • Hot workability characteristics

Our ESRs offer very high and consistent product quality. The combination of extremely slow & controlled melt rate and fast solidification gives fantastic structural integrity to our steels. This is why ESR is recognized as the preferred production method for high-performance superalloys that are used today in industries such as aerospace and nuclear engineering as well as for heavy forgings.

Additional Advantages:

  • Decarburisation
  • Desulphurization
  • Inclusion distribution
  • Hot workability characteristics

The perfect equipment to provide excellent quality and flexibility in shapes and sizes for the production of superalloys. Our long radial forging machine has hammers stroking the steel from all 4 sides at 60 strokes per second!

Additional Advantages:

  • Fine grain size
  • High density of the product
  • Homogenous structure
  • Flexibility of size & shape

To provide crack free and defect free steel & meet your demand of close tolerance and excellent finish steel. We can provide steels with up to h7 tolerances.

In addition, our facilities include centerless grinders, bar polishing machines and a full fledged machine shop for high dimensional accuracy and enhanced surface quality.

Additional Advantages:

  • Kieserling WDH 50: Size range 12mm to 50mm
  • James Farma CBT3: Size range 35mm to 75mm
  • Hartex & Schriviner Grinding machines (4 nos): Size range 6mm to 60mm

To ensure that the products meet the highest standards of requirements, we also have a state-of-the art testing facility. Testing is conducted as every stage to ensure that the product is meeting all the quality requirements as per the application’s need. We also have a R&D laboratory that helps us develop new steels & alloys to serve the customer’s requirement.
