Hastelloy G30 round bar is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy known for having exceptional corrosion resistance when exposed to harsh chemicals.
A benefit of UNS N06030 Black Bar is its outstanding corrosion resistance abilities. It shows great resistance to pitting and cracking corrosion when exposed to environments with chlorides, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, formic acid and acetic acid. This is due to the alloy’s high levels of chromium and molybdenum. This resistance makes it better than other nickel alloys. The round bar keeps its strength and durability when used in very hot environments up to 1200°F.
Hastelloy G30 bars also have great weldability. They can be welded using common welding methods. Sometimes, preheating is recommended to prevent cracking during welding. The welded metal ends up matching closely to the base metal composition. So, there is reliable performance in harsh conditions for welded and non-welded areas.
Aside from chemical processing, ASTM B581 Hastelloy G30 Flat Bar is also popular for pollution control uses where sulfuric acid can cause components to fail quickly. Here, it lasts well because it allows systems to stand up to deterioration. Compared to stainless steel, it better resists chloride-related cracking, too. Main uses include chemical and petrochemical processing, chloride solutions, acetic and formic acid production, waste treatment, sulfur removal, synthetic fibres, and tubing for wells.
With properties like resisting oxidation and retaining thermal stability through repeated heating and cooling cycles, ASME SB581 Hastelloy G30 Rectangular Bar has proven very valuable. It provides a much longer service life even in very demanding conditions.
