Hastelloy G3 is a nickel-based alloy resistant to various corrosive environments. This makes it useful for many applications that involve heat, pressure, and corrosion. The round bar form allows Hastelloy G3 to be machined into custom parts and shapes. The round shape provides an even distribution of the material properties.
Hastelloy G3 round bars have high strength and durability. They keep their shape and strength in environments up to 1,900°F. The bars also stand up to stress corrosion cracking. This alloy resists corrosion in acidic, alkaline, and salt environments.
The material has good fabrication and forming qualities. UNS N06985 Half Round Bar takes well to welding without becoming too hard or brittle. It also polishes nicely for applications that require a decorated finish.
The nickel and chromium composition gives Hastelloy G3 bars their unique blend of heat and corrosion properties. Molten salts, organic acids, alkaline solutions, chlorine compounds, and other aggressive chemicals have little effect on the alloy. Bars made from ASME SB581 Hastelloy G3 Rectangular Bar stock reliably withstand exposure that would damage stainless steel.
Hastelloy round bar withstands exposure to dangerous chemicals. It is the preferred material for reformers, heaters, crackers, valves, and other refinery parts.
The alloy protects against sulphuric acid and other caustic substances found in scrubbers and precipitators. Round bar construction allows pollution-control parts to be fabricated rather than cast.
ASTM B581 Hastelloy G3 Bright Bar makes an excellent starting material for fabricating parts destined for hot, acidic environments. Its balance of properties allows the alloy to withstand conditions that would rapidly wear down other materials. This durability translates to longer service life for Hastelloy G3 components.
