ASTM B574 Hastelloy C22 Flat Bar, UNS N06022 Black Bar, JIS NCF NW 6022 Cold Drawn Bar, , UNS N06022 Half Round Bar, JIS NCF NW 6022 Hot Rolled Bar, UNS N06022 Hex Bar, UNS N06022 Hexagonal Bar, JIS NCF NW 6022 Rectangular Bar, Werkstoff Nr. 2.4602 Peeled Round Bar.
Hastelloy C22 round bar is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy favoured for its corrosion and oxidation resistance. The blend of metals gives it exceptional strength and stability when facing acids, chlorides, amines and other destructive environments found in chemical processing and pollution control.
Hastelloy C22 has become an increasingly popular grade for engineers to specify for round bars used in critical components. The typical properties of Hastelloy C22 Flat Bar include high tensile strength in the 100 ksi range, yield strength from 30-35 ksi, and an average of 15% elongation.
It retains these mechanical properties even after prolonged exposure up to 1,200 degrees F, with thermal properties closer matching engineering alloys over stainless steel. This combination of strength, fabricability and temperature resistance allows for versatility in designing vessels, fasteners and structural parts out of UNS N06022 Hex Bar. The bars are readily machined into all components needed in the chemical, petrochemical and power generation sectors.
A benefit of Hastelloy C22 over other nickel alloys is its improved weldability, meaning less risk of post-welding cracks. The heat-affected zones around welds respond well to standard ageing treatments. This ensures the structural integrity of vessels, heat exchangers, evaporators, pumps and processing equipment made from welded C22 bars. Unlike stainless steels, UNS N06022 Black Bar resists pitting and crevice corrosion even when welded.
When machining C22 bars, rigidity and sharp tooling are paramount to achieving tight tolerances. While readily machinable, the stringy chips and work-hardening tendencies mean taking slow feeds and speeds.
Werkstoff Nr. 2.4602 Peeled Round Bar provides exceptional structural stability and corrosion resistance due to its blend of durability-enhancing metals. This makes it an extremely versatile grade usable across the chemical processing, pollution control, pulp and paper, nuclear and petrochemical sectors, especially for vessels, heat exchangers and other critical parts.
