Incoloy 800 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that is known for its exceptional corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. This alloy plate offers excellent performance across a wide range of corrosive environments and high-heat applications.
DIN 1.4876 Clad Plate has great resistance to oxidation and carburization at high temperatures. The nickel and chromium contents give the alloy its corrosion protection while the iron provides strength and ductility. The plate has good ductility and formability which allows it to be fabricated using standard shop methods like forming, bending, drawing, machining, and welding.
The key properties that make the Incoloy 800 plate stand out include:
- High strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures up to 1,300°F. This allows the plate to perform well in demanding heat applications.
- Resistance to pitting and corrosion cracking in environments with chlorides, sulphur compounds, carbon dioxide, and other aggressive chemicals. This gives it an edge over other alloys in harsh industrial processes.
- Oxidation resistance in continuous service up to 1,900°F and intermittent service up to 2,000°F because of the protective chromium oxide layer that forms on the surface
- Excellent thermal conductivity compared to other nickel alloys. This aids in heat dissipation.
- The Incoloy 800 plate offers versatile fabrication for complex parts. It can be cut, formed, machined, welded, and processed using standard practices. Parts made from Incoloy 800 plates have dimensional stability after exposure to high temperatures.
