Waspaloy is an alloy round bar made from nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and small amounts of other metals like iron and silicon. It is produced to precise shapes and sizes with tight controls to ensure quality bars. The material offers an optimal balance of strength, hardness and resistance abilities valued across demanding industries.
A notable property of Waspaloy round bars is that they retain tensile strength and creep resistance at high temperatures beyond what stainless steel can withstand. The bars don’t get too soft or deformed from heat exposure during use. This allows reliable stability when getting red hot for processes like forging. It also suits applications that see radical heat fluctuations or spikes over time.
In addition to heat resistance, these nickel alloy bars demonstrate good fatigue life with up and down flexing stresses over many cycles. The chromium content also gives DIN 2.4654 Square Bar excellent corrosion protection in acidic, caustic or saltwater environments that erode common metals. A thin chromium oxide layer develops on the bar surface, shielding the interior.
AMS 5607 Waspaloy Half Round Bar delivers high-yield strength and endure powerful pressures and impacts without permanent marks or dents. Their formulation optimizes hardness while retaining some pliability instead of becoming brittle.
With its balanced properties, AMS 5608 Waspaloy Peeled Round Bar serves well across aerospace, chemical processing, power generation and tooling uses. Hardness and flexibility at extreme temperatures suit metal die tooling to shape red-hot alloys.
